Housing is at the center of our lives, whether we realize it or not.  So, it makes me proud to pass by formerly vacant lots and see affordable housing that I helped build knowing there are families living there with one less major thing to worry about.

Tsega Bekele advises developers of affordable housing and community development projects on all aspects of a transaction including structure, financing, regulatory requirements, process, and government and community relations. Drawing from his experience in the government agencies that fund affordable housing developments, he knows how to get deals done using funding sources such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Historic Tax Credits, HOME, CDBG, Rent Vouchers, and more.

Tsega spent more than ten years in government overseeing the production and preservation of affordable housing and transformative economic development projects including time at the Department of Housing and Community Development and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development in Washington, D.C.

Tsega is a great negotiator and an empathetic person who brings camaraderie to every transaction. Clients and colleagues take comfort in Tsega’s calm demeanor, no matter the stakes. He’s the person you want to call to get a deal unstuck.
