I love working as part of a team that is focused on getting affordable housing and community development projects built. I have had the privilege of working on many local projects that I pass by regularly – seeing these buildings become homes and community resources inspires me.

Jacob Taylor’s practice focuses on a wide range of affordable housing and community development matters, with an emphasis on construction, real estate finance, conveyancing, corporate and partnership law, as well as zoning and permitting matters. Jacob regularly represents both non-profit and for-profit developers of affordable housing, both in Massachusetts and nationally, and has worked on many deals involving multiple sources of tax credit financing and complex funding/condominium structures. Jacob has substantial experience with both new construction and rehabilitation projects. He also has deep expertise in helping clients navigate the requirements of MGL Chapter 40B, MGL Chapter 40T and matters involving the Boston Planning and Development Agency, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities and other state and local housing agencies. In his pro bono work, Jacob has represented housing cooperatives, regional planning agencies, as well as a community development corporation seeking to reestablish itself.

Jacob’s substantial transactional experience enables him to add value for clients by drafting clear and effective transactional documents that help to avoid pitfalls and problems down the road. He excels at managing deals that bring multiple sources of funding and tax credit financing together and breaking down complex deals into more manageable components.
